Sharma opens with a 69 at PGA Championship

August 10: India’s Shubhankar Sharma fired an opening one-under-par 69 to take a share of 33rd place at the PGA Championship on Thursday.

The current Habitat for Humanity standings leader mixed his card with three birdies and two bogeys to stay five shots back of American leader Gary Woodland at the year’s final Major.

Japan’s Yuta Ikeda, carded a 68 to share 16th place while Anirban Lahiri signed for a 70 to end the day tied for 48th place.

South Africa’s Justin Harding and Thailand’s Kiradech Aphibarnrat would be looking for improved performances after they carded rounds of 72 and 75 respectively  to languish in tied 83rd and 134th place at the Bellerive Country Club.
